My mom's favorite enjoyments in summer have been enjoying King Park in Newport, R. I. and sunbathing. She also enjoyed summer festivities, among others, a trip to Hunter Mountain with my dad and me when I was a young man, probably in 1978. At Hunter Mountain, we ate a bratwurst with potato salad, which my mother criticized for not being like what she enjoyed in Europe, my dad creported the bratwrust tasted like it was cooked in a blast furnace, and I cleaned my plate without complaint.
